The Growers While British Columbia is famous
around the world for its pristine beauty, mountains and coastal rain forest,
the province is also home to areas of rich farmland. Most of our members'
farms are located in the south west corner of British Columbia in the
Fraser Valley. This fertile valley, with its temperate climate, offers
an outstanding growing environment for the wide variety of plants and
flowers grown there. To augment outside growing areas, many producers
use state-of-the-art greenhouse technology to ensure abundant crops, year-round. |
| British Columbia growers endeavour to operate environmentally friendly farms in every way they can. They employ the latest agricultural techniques to aide them in crop management and many now use soil-less, closed circuit growing methods. | |
|
Experience and education play a large part in the successful operation of any farm business, and floriculture is no exception. Most growers have obtained degrees in the plant sciences or have professional staff with these valuable qualifications.
